If your child is in Kindergarten through 3rd grade, we strongly encourage you to attend one of our Alabama Literacy Act Presentations. This presentation is an important opportunity to learn more about the Alabama Literacy Act, what it means for your child, and how you can support your child’s reading success at home.

Your partnership and understanding are important pieces of your child’s literacy journey. We want you to feel informed, empowered, and equipped to support your Shepard Scholar every step of the way!

Afterward, enjoy a beautiful fall picnic with your child! 🍎🍂 Bring a blanket and picnic lunch so you can relax, connect, and enjoy quality time together.
**Please remember:** Outside food must be brought in a **plain bag or container. NO fast-food bags are permitted.**

Kate Shepard Elementary
Friendly Reminder: No school for students on Monday, October 12, for Teacher Work Day and on Tuesday, October 13, for Professional Development Day. Students will return to school on Wednesday, October 14.
As we prepare for the expected inclement weather and school is closed on Friday, 10/9, we have cancelled Kate Shepard Spirit Night at Chuck E Cheese for 10/8.
We look forward to rescheduling at a later date.

It's Kate Shepard Spirit Night, Thursday October 8th from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p..m. Come and enjoy fun, food and games and spend time with your school family. Students will receive 10 FREE tokens and coupons for more tickets and food. Our school receives profits from the sales that night-a great way to see support Kate Shepard. We can't wait to see you there!
